Lunar Calendar
2018 - 2023
The Lunar Calendar has been used for millenia, tracking the moon cycles for the benefit of time keeping, rather than using the solar cycle as the Earth goes around the sun. The current calendar we use, though, breaks up the solor cycles into months, but the months don't really track anything, other than direct subsets of the solar year. This calendar hopes to remedy that.
This calendar tracks the course of the moon, and still labels the new solar year occurances. Each month starts with a new moon, and the full moon is around the 15th of each month. The names of the months depend on the culture using the calendar, and there are many variations all over the world.
The year starts with the Chinese New Year, which starts between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox. Many holidays are labeled, as well as the 24 solar terms.
I have made the complete lunar calendar for 2018 - 2023. Simply click a month for a bigger picture. Use it however you wish, but please give me credit if you can! :)
2023
This year is kind of the start of a golden era for Avatar Studios, so this seemed appropriate. If you haven't seen the shows, I highly recommend them. I'm currently working my way through the comics.
2022
This year, I wanted to give tribute to one of the best games of all time - Dungeons and Dragons. Each month features a different class from the Player's Hand Book (Sorry, no Artificer). If you want to learn more about this classic game, please check out Dungeons & Dragons for more information. I hope you find luck and favor when you use this calendar this year. Wishing you the best in 2022.
2021
This year, I've thought to use the strategy board game of Root as my theme. The months are named after the different races and factions found in the game. If you want to learn more about this wonderful game, please check out Leder Games for more information. I hope you find this calendar beautiful, engaging, and useful. Happy new year!
